Ready, aim, fire! We know it’s hard to believe, but we are only days away from thisTichigan Lions week’s 11th Annual Pride Shoot, happening once again at Milford Hills Hunt Club in Johnson Creek.

Sporting clays shooting is often called “golf with a shotgun,” but unlike golf, shooting sporting clays is as fun for beginners as it is for seasoned experts (we’re sure golfers would agree!)

Our sporting clays fundraiser is our most popular event that takes place on the second weekend in June. Both Lions and non-Lions come together to enjoy a day on the course in the beautiful rolling hills of Southern Wisconsin to support Lions Pride.

The day consists of an early breakfast followed by a challenging 22-round course with games and door prizes. After shooters have finished the course, they celebrate with beer, auction and delicious supper. The Pride Shoot is one of the most, unique and successful fundraisers that takes place for our organization.

Although we still have a lot of work ahead of us, we are eagerly anticipating Saturday’s arrival. We are always reminded of Dewey’s spirit, but it’s even more present this time of year as he so looked forward to the annual shoot. We feel we have a personal responsibility to make the upcoming event even more rewarding than the last.

We’d like to thank all of our donors, sponsors and volunteers for all of your support – both leading up to, during and after the shoot. We know firsthand that it takes a village to create and implement a successful event, and the Pride Shoot would not be what it is without all of your help.

See you Saturday!

7th Annual Lions Pride Sporting Clays FundraiserNative Americans associate the color orange with kinship; defined as a close connection marked by community of interests or similarity in nature or character. On Saturday, June 14th as the sky and the hills near Johnson Creek were awash with the color orange 105 shooters, 26 volunteers and several spectators celebrated their kinship at the 7th Annual Lions Pride Shoot Sporting Clays Fundraiser.

This event brings Lions, Lioness and non-Lions from throughout the state together for a day in the great outdoors. Once again we were blessed with wonderful weather, making for an enjoyable day for our shooters and volunteers.

Pulled pork sandwiches were served for lunch and a prime rib dinner meant no one left hungry. The raffles and live auction again conducted by Lion Dan Huntington of Gresham, included many items, Packer and Badger ticket packages, guns, hunts, sports equipment, a week in Aruba and even an Amish Quilt all donated by ardent Pride supporters PDG Jim and Lion Pauline Schiferl.  The Lions Pride Shoot has something for everyone to enjoy.

Mark your calendar and plan to join us next year on June 13th for our 8th Annual Event as a Shooter, Sponsor or Volunteer.

In just one short week, we will be hosting our annual Lions Pride sporting clays shoot in Milford Hills, Wisconsin.Image

For the past six years on the second Saturday of June, Lions and Lionesses from all over the state have had the opportunity to come together to support Lions Pride at this unique and fun event.

The day is filled with beautiful scenery, delicious food, raffle prizes, fun games and challenging shooting ranges (good for new and experienced shooters.) A returning attendee has said, “Whether I am shooting over a duck pond or seeing targets exiting the woods into the open, variety is at every stand.”

The sporting clays fundraiser has become an event Lions and non-Lions look forward to each spring. One Lion has said, “This year when I announced I was forming a sporting clays team, I had no problem getting Lions who wanted to sign up and shoot again!”

The event may only be nine days away, but you can still join in on the fun.  It is not too late to register.

To learn more about the Lions Pride Sporting Clay Fundraiser or to register, call our office at 715.677.7000 or email us at prideoffice@lionspride.org.

See you in Milford Hills on June 14th!

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks here at Lions Pride!  Last Friday, We had a great visit from ID Stephen Glass and his wife PDG Cindy. Despite the dreary weather, they enjoyed their tour with Cecily then warmed up in Lions Pride house and enjoyed Denise’s chili and Geri’s chocolate chip cookies.

Then it was off to the District 27-B2 Convention for LPEF Executive Director Geri Schlender and Chairman Dewey Carl.  The convention was held at the Meadows Convention Center in Green Bay.

Friday evening, Lions Pride was honored to have the opportunity speak prior to the “Let Me Be Frank” Tribute Show, proceeds from which will be donated to the Lions Pride Endowment Fund of Wisconsin.

Let Me Be Frank Productions has been performing in the Green Bay area for the past 14 years.  The Tribute Show poked fun at the famous musical artists from the 50s, 60s and 70s. We saw artists such as Elvis, Cher, Reba, Neil Diamond, Patsy Cline, Tom Jones and many more.

If you’re looking for a fun way to spend time with friends or family, we encourage you to check out “Let Me Be Frank.”  Take a look at their upcoming show calendar and make it a night to remember!

We would like to give a special ‘thank you’ to the Dyckesville and Kewaunee Lions Clubs for sponsoring the event and choosing to support the Lions Pride Endowment Fund.
